Jordan Johnson - IT Governance and Audit Wizard

Jordan Johnson has worked in the IT field for 10 years, and before worked a variety of jobs including social services and food service. After earning his IST degree from SIU in 2019, Jordan worked for SIU in a couple roles for campus IT. Jordan's ability to communicate with all types of folks is crucial to him in his current role where he performs audit and compliance reviews for the financial services firm he works for remotely.

Gared Seats - Splunk, Security, & SEIM Ninja

Gared Seats is a Southern Illinois native and SEIM ninja who earned his IST degree in 2011. In the decade since graduating Gared's career has taken him from Carbondale to Oklahoma to Kansas City and back to his hometown where he works remotely for large federal agencies putting his multiple Splunk certificates to use architecting SEIM and data solutions. 

Matthew Nicklin - Securing our Power Transmissions

Matt Nicklin is a busy guy! After graduating with an IST degree from SIU he began his role as a cybersecurity specialist for a power co-op he his responsible for technologies such as SCADA, network infrastructure, and security tools and ensures audit and compliance obligations are met. Matt also teaches a variety of classes in the ITEC program and advises the SIU Security Dawgs RSO.

Elnaz Fathi - Customer Support & Data Transformation Pro

Elnaz Fathi started her tech career in her home country of Iran. Since completing graduate school at SIU Elnaz  has worked supporting customer applications and helping automate data transformations and increase business process efficiencies.

Darcie Cohee - UX Master & Baking Extraordinaire

Saluki alum Darcie Cohee, and 2013 SIU Information Systems Technologies graduate, is an associate product designer based in Chicago, IL, shares her career path and experience with Tom. And talks a little bit about her love of baking tasty treats.
